As we look back on 2025, one thing is clear: this was a year defined by resilience, education, gratitude, and deep community connection. From standing with Los Angeles during challenging moments to celebrating 75 years of service in the San Fernando Valley, 2025 reflected what Ace Building Materials has always been aboutâshowing up when it matters and supporting the people who build this city.

We began the year focused on what matters most: community. In January, as Los Angeles faced devastating Palisades, Malibu and Eaton fires, Ace reaffirmed its commitment to being a resource and a support system. Whether customers were repairing, rebuilding, or simply seeking guidance, our message was clearâour doors were open, and we were here to help.
We also encouraged our community to support local organizations doing critical work, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Mutual Aid LA, and World Central Kitchen. That spirit of collective care set the tone for the year ahead.

Education was a cornerstone of 2025. Throughout the year, Ace hosted a full calendar of Product Knowledge (PK) events designed to give contractors, builders, landscapers, and homeowners hands-on access to industry-leading products and expert insights.
Key events included:
These events reinforced Aceâs role not just as a supplier, but as a trusted educational partner in the field.

One of the highlights of the year was our Cinco de Mayo Customer Appreciation Day on May 2, along with Customer Appreciation Days from May 1â3. The event brought together contractors, vendors, and community members for food, raffles, giveaways, and hands-on product demos from dozens of partner brands.
More importantly, these days were about purpose. A portion of all sales during the event supported the Adopt-A-Fire-Station Program through the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, benefiting Fire Station 39.

On July 1, Ace Building Materials had the honor of visiting LAFD Fire Station #39 as part of the Adopt-A-Fire-Station Program. Welcomed by Captain Torres and his team, the Ace crew gained firsthand insight into station life, the realities of emergency response, and the needs that often fall outside city funding.
As a direct result of funds raised during our Cinco de Mayo Customer Appreciation Days, Ace donated $2,500 to Fire Station #39 to support essential equipment and station improvements.
As Josh Zakarya shared during the visit:
âThis visit was more than a gestureâit was a reminder of how small businesses can make a lasting impact.â

2025 was also a landmark year as Ace Building Materials was officially recognized by the Los Angeles City Council for 75 years of service to the San Fernando Valley. During a City Council session held in the Valley on Halloween, Ace was honored for its legacy as a family-run, community-rooted business.
From its beginnings in 1950 as Ace Brick & Patio along the railroad line near todayâs Orange Line, through rebuilding efforts after the Northridge earthquake, to todayâs leadership under siblings Josh, Jessica, and Jason Zakarya, Aceâs story has always been about showing up, adapting, and taking care of people.
City leaders recognized Ace as more than a businessâhighlighting its role in job creation, neighborhood stability, and community resilience.
As we move into 2026, Ace Building Materials remains committed to the same simple mission that has guided us for decades: help rebuild Los Angelesâone home, one business, one street at a time.
To our employees, customers, vendors, and neighbors: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the role you played in making 2025 a year to remember. Weâre honored to keep building with youânow and for the decades ahead.
